20th anniversary of the Consulate General of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Shanghai

The Luxembourg Official Trade Mission to China also marked the 20th anniversary of the Consulate General of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Shanghai, celebrated on September 23 in the presence of H.E. Mr. Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism. 

On this occasion, an official reception brought together not only institutional and business partners, as well as members of the Luxembourg community, but also the first Consul General of Luxembourg in Shanghai, Ambassador – Director, Pierre Ferring.

Minister Delles and Ambassador Ferring, also took this opportunity to congratulate Mrs. Lys Pan and Mrs. Na Shi, who were among the Consulate’s first employees, and to thank them, along with the rest of the team, for their loyalty and commitment, which have accompanied Luxembourg’s presence in Shanghai from the very beginning.

In his opening remarks, the Minister recalled the objective behind establishing a presence in Shanghai 20 years ago: to deepen Luxembourg’s business and trade relations with China’s economic and financial capital. He concluded by stating “Twenty years, five Consuls General, one team, and a strong growing partnership between our two countries: that is what we are celebrating today”.
