Luxembourg Celebrates National Day in Shanghai
On 23 June, the Consulate General of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Trade and Investment Office hosted a reception in Shanghai to celebrate Luxembourg National Day.
This year’s celebration marked the first National Day under the reign of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Guillaume, who succeeded his father as Head of State in October 2025.
Consul General Tania Berchem was particularly honored to welcome Mr. Zhou Yaming, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, together with his delegation. The event brought together several hundred guests, including representatives from government, institutions, academia, industry, and business, as well as members of the Luxembourg community in Shanghai and the provinces of Anhui, Fujian, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang.
The reception highlighted the long-standing and mutually beneficial friendship between Luxembourg and China. Beyond high-level exchanges, bilateral cooperation has been steadily strengthened across key sectors, including green and sustainable technologies, steel, logistics, automotive, and finance, as well as through cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
The Consulate General and the Trade and Investment Office expressed their sincere appreciation to all guests and partners who joined in celebrating Luxembourg National Day in Shanghai and the enduring friendship between Luxembourg and China.
