Consulate General in Shanghai celebrates Luxembourg National Day

On the weekend of June 22, Luxembourg celebrated National Day with a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday in Luxembourg City, as well as an official ceremony at the Luxembourg Philharmonie and a military parade on Sunday June 23, alongside many other events throughout the entire Grand Duchy.

Festivities in Shanghai kicked off several days earlier, with an official reception organized by the Consulate General of Luxembourg in Shanghai at W Hotel on June 19, at which Consul General Tania Berchem had the honor of welcoming over 150 guests from government, institutions, diplomacy, business, and the Luxembourgish community.

In her speech, Consul General Berchem highlighted some of the recent milestones in the development of bilateral ties between Luxembourg and China, including the inauguration of the very first direct passenger flight between Luxembourg and China in December of last year and the official visit in Luxembourg in June of this year of Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang.

This year’s celebrations took place under the theme "United by creativity, sustained by diversity", highlighting creativity and diversity as pillars of Luxembourg's identity and unity.

The Consulate General of Luxembourg thanks its numerous partners for contributing to making the event a success.
