Easing Conditions on Entry and Residences in Luxembourg

Publié le mercredi 08 octobre 2014

Foreign and European Affairs Minister Jean Asselborn said in mid-August that Luxembourg will relax the residence permit procedure when it transposes the European Directive on conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for intra-corporate transfers. The effect of the proposal will make it easier for international companies to send staff and their families to their Luxembourg operations.
Mr. Asselborn said work began on transposing the law in July 2014, responding to a parliamentary question from MP Laurent Mosar, who said that the current policy of immigration is too complex and rigid. He warned that, if left unchanged, it could damage the attractiveness of Luxembourg for international investors.
