4th CULTURAL DIALOGUE CHINA / EUNIC 28 to 29 October 2011 at Centre Culturel de Rencontre, Abbaye de Neumünster (CCRN), Luxembourg

Publié le vendredi 28 octobre 2011

The Conference started on the morning of October 26th with the opening speeches by Guy Dockendorf, Wang Nengxian, Vice-President of the Chinese National Academy of Arts, Charles-Etienne Lagasse, Vice-President of EUNIC and Octavie Modert, Minister of Culture of Luxembourg.

After the speeches, the artists and curators explained how and what they had been working at during the first week of the conference. It has to be noted that this very intimate testimony of Chinese and European artists, as well as the three exhibitions they had organized, were part of the highlights of the conference.

October 27 and 28th were dedicated to "Cultural Heritage Protection and Urban Development in a global Perspective", "Functions of Cultural Centers in the Process of Urban Re-Construction", "The Role of Creative Industries in the Strategy of Sustainable Urban Development","The Role of Arts in the 21st Century". During Friday morning, the Europe-China Cultural Compass had been presented by Katja Hellkoetter, Editor in Chief. This 250 page vademecum is a must for all those who want to work with Chinese partners in the cultural domain. This was perceived as one of the finest realizations of EUNIC!
